Company History

EPCO was founded in 1987 by Ric Wiesemann to provide low cost choices in CO2 product supply to the liquid carbon dioxide marketplace within the Gulf Coast area. With the construction of its first CO2 liquefaction plant, located in Sterlington, LA., EPCO gained rapid market acceptance as a viable carbon dioxide supplier providing high quality liquid carbon dioxide at the lowest possible cost with exceptional product supply reliability.  EPCO’s reputation of meeting its customers’ commitments and expectations spread far and wide and much of its growth over the past years can be traced to many of those initial customers requesting EPCO carbon dioxide supply in other parts of the country.

Since its inception EPCO has commissioned 14 carbon dioxide liquefaction plants and currently services many of the major users of liquid carbonic dioxide within the Food, Beverage and Chemical market segments.

Today EPCO employs over 140 employees and operates eleven modern CO2 liquefaction plants servicing over 170 large carbon dioxide users located throughout the Central and Eastern States Regions.

EPCO is headquartered in Monroe, LA
